This is the smallest of Antwerp's urban museums. All too few people know it, even though modern-day foreigners have described it in their travel journals as a marvel and even though time and time again Henri de Braekeleer found inspiration here for his subtle talent. The building was restored in the fifties and at the same time the outside walls were rid of less felicitous alterations made over the years. On July 1st 1961 the Brouwershuis rose like a phoenix from the ashes and was safe for a few more decades. It contains no special collection: building and content are one.
